Common Questions
Clarifying the clinical experience and expectations for your treatment journey.
What does a session feel like?
We use a focused, high-energy approach that targets the root of your pain. You may feel a snapping or tapping localized sensation at the treatment site that is very tolerable. Most patients report a significant reduction in pain and stiffness within the first few sessions.
How many sessions are typically needed?
A series of 3 to 6 treatments is common, but is based on factors such as the type of injury or pain and whether it's acute, chronic or degenerative. We provide an honest estimate after your initial assessment.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
No. Our treatment is non-invasive and requires no recovery time. You can resume your daily activities immediately after your session. There is no need for rest or downtime.
Are there any contraindications?
Shockwave therapy is not recommended for individuals with a malignant tumor in the treatment area, a pacemaker or defibrillator in the field, or those who are pregnant with the fetus in the treatment zone. We will review your medical history during your initial consultation.
Is this treatment covered by insurance?
Unfortunately, most insurance plans do not cover shockwave therapy. We offer a transparent cash-pay pricing model, which includes a full course of treatment. We will provide you with a detailed estimate after your first visit. We can also provide you with a Superbill you can use if you wish to pursue reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Â
